ESD NEWS
It was a busy day for Auburn and a successful one, at that. The Tigers started the day ranked No. 9 in the country and jumped up a spot to No. 8, signing everyone it was expected to sign, plus it flipped a top-100 player in Amaris Williams.
LJ McCray, who was set to sign this morning, delayed a bit but ultimately signed with Florida in the early evening hours. What's next for Auburn and who's left?
Really, there's just two players still remaining in the 2024 class expected to sign early that Auburn is fighting for: Favour Edwin and Coen Echols. There are three schools left for each offensive lineman.
Auburn separated itself with Florida and Alabama as the front runners for Edwin, and it's been an interesting recruitment to say the least. Initially, Auburn was the favorite, then Alabama for a while, but in the last 48 hours, it sounds like all three have somewhat of a shot. I'm expecting Edwin to end up at either Alabama or Auburn, but the longer this delays, the more wide open I think it could be. Edwin's recruitment is just like the time he's set to announce — unclear.
Echols is down to Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M, but A&M appears as the No. 3 school in the mix right now. He's fresh off a visit to LSU and while there was plenty of initial chatter that he'd end up at Auburn after de-committing from A&M, I don't feel as good as I did a week ago before he visited LSU. We'll see if any more comes to light over the next day or so, with Echols planning to announce Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. CST.

- Auburn, Oregon or Ohio State. Quiet recruitment. Visited all three schools.
- Visited Auburn over the weekend and it sounds like things went well. I'd keep close tabs on Harris.
- Newly offered OL who entered the portal Wednesday. 3-star OL in the 2023 class, didn't see any action for UGA last season.
- Visited Auburn over the weekend, may take some visits in January. We'll continue to monitor if Auburn is interested in adding a transfer TE through the winter and if Skinner fits the mold.
