- "There’s no running from it. NIL in itself is a factor in recruiting. I have said it in every home and I’ll say it here. I don’t think that should be the primary reason a young man should choose a school."
- Freeze on if Auburn is committed to getting a quarterback from the portal:
- "Yes. If it’s the right one. We’ve gone back and forth on our rankings on them. We’re looking at this list right now of the next man up and hopefully we’ll get the right one.”
