** Different week with finals and an extended period off between games.

** Six games in 14 days starting at MTSU. Have played fewer games than most teams in country because of exempt event around Christmas. Pearl also didn't want to play a lot of games early with so many new players.

** The upcoming opponents should be RPI boosts.

** MTSU is very good defensively. Well coached. "One of our better wins last year was against Middle Tennessee."

** MTSU is 72-12 when they score over 60. Will guard a lot like Ole Miss will guard them later this season.

** Will play MTSU in Bham BJCC in 2017-18 season, UAB in 18-19. "I'm always open in playing a neutral site game there."

** Jay Bilas called Xavier a Final Four team. Auburn plays at Xavier Dec. 19. Xavier No. 2 RPI.

** Took three days off of practice in the last six for finals. Will practice for the next three days.

** Still turning ball over too much in practice, games.

** Tahj Shamsid-Deen probably not available for MTSU. New Williams is back practicing. Expects New to play during this stretch.

** Nothing new for Danjel Purifoy. Pearl believes it will be resolved by end of the year. Can be a difference maker. "He's our best pro prospect."

** Two options: Purifoy could be eligible immediately or a partial qualifier and sit out a year. He has been allowed to stay on full scholarship. Purifoy practicing with team now. They would have to decide if he can continue to practice if a partial.

** This is an issue with the ACT. His increase got flagged. Not a self-inflicted issue with Auburn compliance. No blame on AU compliance. Purifoy doing well in school this semester.
