Questions for Bunker veterans who served in Afghanistan

I am listening to an audiobook of the book “The Afghanistan Papers” by Craig Whitlock. The part that I am finding the most compelling listening to is the description of how difficult it was for the US and its allies who were trying to train the Afghan national army and police forces. For reasons such as corruption, illiteracy, terrible marksman ship, and standards being lowered just to get these recruits to “graduate” their basic training.

My question for the Bunker veterans we have is… what was it like serving alongside the Afghan nationals? What were they like? How was it being around them? I imagine it had to be a serious headache dealing with these people. I’m not trying to start a political debate. I am genuinely curious about this, as we have veterans on this board.

If this thread needs to be moved, I understand.
