Here's the latest we have on Auburn's pursuit of a portal quarterback...
** Payton Thorne posted this morning on his social media a goodbye to Michigan State. This is significant as we heard that as of a couple of days ago, Sparty was Auburn's biggest competition for Thorne and had come back to him with a bigger NIL package.
** This morning's development makes me feel even more confident in Auburn's chances, however, I'm in no way saying it's a done deal. As we mentioned a couple of days ago, MSU has finals this week and graduation this weekend just like Auburn. He is leaving as a graduate transfer.
** As of this week, Auburn has stayed in touch with Nebraska transfer QB Casey Thompson as well and he remains a possibility.
** We DO NOT expect Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall to graduate this summer and be an option as a graduate transfer.
