It’s been reported many times that Hugh didn’t want to spend the money last year to get a portal QB. But is it possible that the money guys are the ones who didn’t want to spend the money, on top of all the other money they were putting up for other positions?
That’s what makes the most sense to me. Of course Hugh would say it was his decision… he’s the face of the program and that’s his job. Would explain why he is so stressed this year and why the money guys are suddenly so enthusiastic to get a proven QB now that they see their strategic error.
