Politics has no place in medicine. In this case, it may have helped. Strict protocols can tie physicians hands and not allow them to think on their own.

"A judge ordered a NYS hospital to administer ivermectin to a patient with COVID-19.
"State Supreme Court Justice Frank Caruso on Friday ordered a Rochester hospital to continue Ivermectin treatments to Glenna Dickinson, 65, of Albion.
The Orleans County woman had been in Rochester General Hospital since Jan. 12 with Covid-19, had been put on a ventilator Jan. 17 and had shown “no improvement” until Jan. 20, when her family convinced an intensive care unit doctor to treat her with Ivermectin, said Dickinson’s attorneys Ralph C. Lorigo and Jon F. Minear.
“Within 12 hours, she had made a strong improvement, but the hospital was reluctant to continue giving her Ivermectin,” Lorigo said late Friday. “We got an order from Judge Caruso, and he may have saved this woman’s life.”
In contrast to the assertion of the author, ivermectin is not an experimental medication. It has more positive RCT's and studies than any other medication studied for COVID. I have posted many of these studies on FB in the past few months, and I was already impressed with ivermectin's potential efficacy going back to May 2020, when we published about in Medical Hypothesis, along with the role of GSH in COVID (R.I. Horowitz, P.R. Freeman, Three Novel Prevention, Diagnostic and Treatment Options for COVID-19 Urgently Necessitating Controlled Randomized Trials, Medical Hypotheses (2020)."
For the physicians out there, maintaining adequate kidney function is about my only concern when using ivermectin and the benefit outweighs the risks IMO.
