We speak with Tashawn Manning, Chandler Wooten and Shaun Shivers today. Click refresh, will continue to update...
TASHAWN MANNING
** Feel like we're polishing techniques from last year and adding more for this season. Last year's experience helping this spring.
** Our group has a bunch of hard workers. He's played both RG and LG so far.
** Coach Friend has a big emphasis on pass blocking this spring. Work on it everyday.
** Doing a lot more technique work under new staff. Been a small learning curve but nothing we can't do.
** Coach Friend is a great guy, funny, big on technique and making sure we always play tough.
** Nick Brahms has been our leader on the OL.
** On players stepping up: Kameron Stutts and Tate Johnson have been coming along this spring and are going to help out this year.
CHANDLER WOOTEN
Scheduled to be here at 1:15 p.m. CT.
** It's been a transition returning. Was good to get back into winter workouts and spring has been good so far. Biggest challenge was getting back to game speed.
** Did a lot of working out by myself during time away and taking care of my baby. Great to be back with teammates and coaches, miss that brotherhood. Close to everyone on team and it was strange not to be with them.
** Plan was to return all along. Had a great talk with Coach Harsin before returning.
** Feel like I'm in a good spot. Working to get better everyday. Not where I want to be just yet.
** Coach Schmedding pays attention to the details everyday.
** Very talented group of young linebackers, still a little raw, especially going into new system. Hard workers.
** Cam Riley can be as good as he wants to be. Lots of potential, long, fast.
** Coach Mason is very high energy. Better bring the juice everyday because he's going to bring it. Watching him work everyday it's hard not to be excited when you come to practice.
** Love being a father. Best part of his day is going home and seeing that smile on my minnie me. Just turned five months yesterday. Could go on all day...
** Zakoby and Pappoe are monsters. The way Zakoby finds the football and is physical at the point of attack. Owen is so smart and fast. Have a chance to be pretty good. Good room.
** It's a difference scheme than we're used to. Going to be asked to do different things, drop, play inside or outside. Very excited to be in this defense. The attention to detail is different. We're growing everyday.
** Definitely felt like a regular student at times last year. It was different, an adjustment. Definitely missed being one of the guys and playing ball. Missed being a football player. This is what I like to do.
SHAUN SHIVERS
** The offense is a little bit different, more downhill, more attacking. It's more our style. It's what I do.
** Feels like offense allows him to show what he can really do.
** Hasn't set any season goals yet, just wants to get better this spring.
** Everybody went into panic mode when the previous staff was fired. Shaun told his teammates to remain calm, could be something better coming in.
** Devan Barrett still has that RB ability, breaks tackles.
** Coach Harsin is very detailed, holds everybody accountable. We've gotten to where Coach Harsin wants us as a team and program.
** The OL are improving everyday. They've been working hard with Coach Friend, going hard in the weight room.
** Nick Brahms is looked at as a leader now, stepping up for the OL.
