I wasn't "here" during the Battle of teh Carolinas and wonder if this had been covered?
#1) Fact: If a player has possession of the ball, and that ball touches or crosses the plane of the goal line, that's a TD. Fact: If a player has possession of the ball and is trying prevent a touch back on a punt, it becomes a touch back when that ball crosses the plane of the goal line (as seen tonight), whether his feet are in the field of play or not. QUESTION: When a receiver or defender catches the ball in the field of play, if the ball is out of bounds or across the end line, is it considered a catch?
#2) Fact: When an offensive player commits a personal foul AFTER the first down is made, 15 yards is stepped off, and it is STILL First and Ten, even though the foul occurred after the play aka dead ball foul. QUESTION: What if the offensive teams breaks huddle, lines up and is set, and the TE smashes a defender in the NUTZ right before the snap? Is is STILL First and Ten?
#3) I thought all offensive linemen had to be close enough to the LOS so their headgear was at least inline with the center of...well the Center's azz? If so, there were some illegal formations in that ugly azz game tonight.
Nugget: The way I have it figured, the O/U on the game was around 62 and the Cocks were around 2 point favorites. Would that mean the "expected" outcome would be 32-30? That's the way I have always figured it.
