She was extremely helpful and answered everything she could so here goes...
* OTV is a LLC for profit corporation, wanted to be nonprofit but the IRS rules are to convoluted, but they treat it like a nonprofit with each year ending with no income. 90% of the funds go to players, 10% cover operating cost. They fund a total of 15 sports at AU.
*Each player signs a 10 page contract that ends on 12-31 of every year. Players are paid monthly and must meet some basic milestones such as class attendance and grades. If they fall short of these milestones they are docked pay or not paid at all for that month. Every player is given a financial course on how to manage their payments. OTV will withhold taxes for the player is requested, 85 percent of the players allow OTV to withhold taxes. Each player who signs with OTV also signs a NDA agreeing to keep they contract details and payments private.
*Players can only sign and start receiving payments AFTER they are enrolled and have their student ID at Auburn. Upon signing the letter of intent the player can start talking to OTV but nothing can be finalized until fully enrolled. Also OTV cannot talk to a potential recruit at all, no pre-signing negotiation's are allowed.
*Players are encouraged to shop their NIL brand around to major brands like Nike, Under Armor, Adidas and so forth to get more income.
*Coaches talk to OTV and let then know if what they need for certain positions, but coaches cannot represent the player what so ever. For instance, we need XXX for a QB or DL position. A coach can tell a recruit this is the potential range of income you can expect based on historical data from OTV but that's as far as it can go.
*No sharing info between collectives, Cosa Nostra mafia level of crime.
Hope his helps.....
