Anybody on here have any experience with a close family member suffering from dementia? My fiancé's grandfather, who is basically a second father to her and an individual I've grown close to over the eight years I've known him, was first diagnosed with Parkinson's a few years ago and is now in the throes of dementia. I think we are all kind of at a loss right now and I am unsure of how to best support my fiance as she has been devastated over it. The grandfather has always been the patriarch of the family and a dominating force. Wore a great many hats and successfully led a small struggling company to become a regional power in its business sector. Now he is quite literally a shell of the man he once was. It is an unbelievably cruel disease, and it feels hopeless for loved ones. Would appreciate it if y'all could say some prayers for my fiancé and her family. My main prayer right now is that the Lord calls him home sooner rather than later.
