I spent Wed - Saturday last week visiting some of the distilleries on the Bourbon Trail w my girlfriend. If I were to rank them I would go:
1. James Beam- absolutely incredible tour and very well done. Got Knob Creek single barrel with my thumbprint in the wax
2. Castle & Key - without a doubt the prettiest and fanciest of the tours. I mean you’re in a castle! Plus the grounds are just beautiful. If you go Thursday-Saturday you can get one of their bourbons. They only put out 100 each day and go fast.
3. Bulleit - most technically advanced distillery and best tasting experience.
4. Heaven Hill - tasting was good and then bottled my own EC Single Barrel
5. Evan Williams Experience- was great and tasting was good
6. Lux Row - nothing really stood out tour wise and the tasting was ok.
Overall an amazing time! Highly recommend. Next trip we’ll be hitting up Four Roses and Woodford Reserve as these were sold out this time.
