Once signing day and the holidays are wrapped up I strongly suggest whoever is interested to watch the multi-part documentary Apocalypse WWI. In my opinion it is one of the finest war documentary series ever made and I have watched it several times (started it up again last night which is the reason for this post). It was made by French Canadian company and uses original but restored footage that would never be allowed to air on American TV. Nothing is sanitized, the madness of European leadership and the realities of the war for the soldiers are shown in all their grotesque horrors. It is exceptionally well written and the historicity is excellent as well. Four years studying history at Auburn has made many documentaries difficult to watch (Ken Burns' "The Civil War" comes to mind) but this is an exception and I think it is an important watch.

If you want to watch it then you can find it on Curiosity Stream (requires subscription) or YouTube (free but difficult to find all episodes and quality is poor). Apocalypse WWII is also excellent but I would recommend watching WWI first. Below is one of my favorite clips from the series.
