I'm getting into woodworking and have started building a dining room table. So far I've picked up a small benchtop jointer (which I've quickly realized is almost useless for long boards), a used dewalt planer, still using my kobalt construction table saw.
I'm having trouble getting the edges of the boards completely straight. I've tried in feed and out feed supports on the jointer and building a jig for the table saw.
Question is, is it worth it to drop $300-500 on a cast iron base larger jointer? Or maybe drop a little bit more and get the nice Delta 36-725 from Lowes?
