Hello good friends and fellow knuckleheads.
A few months back I posted about the possibility of making a career switch and am pretty close to making the jump, but need a little help in refining where I am trying to land.
RELEVANT DEETS:
-currently in non-profit work
-have a finance degree from AU
-want to use my FINC background to get onto the business side, but don't have a clear preference for exactly what I want to do
-preference is to stay in Birmingham
-don't really want to go back to school, but am not opposed to certifications or courses that will require me to study my arse off
-preferred course would be to find something that doesn't require me starting over, but has a high degree of scalability and opportunity for the future
-would prefer to not make a transition into a field that's going to get taken over by ROBITS in the next 10 years
I AM GOOD AT:
-relational skills, working with people
-public speaking, strategic communication (I do a lot of group communication/presentation in my current job and feel above-average skilled in it)
-working with teams, management
-numbers (with some learning curve)
-training, coaching
-relatively fast learner
I AM NOT SO GOOD AT:
-sales-type activities
-being super extroverted
-very-very technical areas (I can learn, but it's been a minute, you feel?)

What are some good areas where I should look? I have an unusually strong network in the B'ham Business world, but I'm getting the sense that most folks need some clarity on where I'd like to land. Would love some suggestions on some fields or specialities to look at that will make me tons of cash with which I can buy influence in Auburn athletics.
