Padres led the Snakes 7-2 going into the top of the 9th. Middle relief man, De Los Santos, of the Padres is in the game to try and wrap it up. He gets a quick out...most fans are leaving, happy with the clean win...but then he gives up a few hits and a couple walks. Dbacks scratch one back, 7-3. Another walk....Bases loaded. Padres call on their all star closer, Suárez, who has a sub 1 ERA and has only given up 1 homerun back in April. Alek Thomas batting (first game back from extended IL stint).... GRAND SALAMI ... tie game. Still only 1 out. The next batter is Randall Grichuk ... he goes yard! Holy shit..the Padres just blew this. Suárez finally gets the next 2 guys out. Bottom 9, trailing 8-7, leadoff man Jurickson Profar hits an 0-2 pitch out of the yard to tie the game 8-8! Then Cronenworth works a walk....setting the stage for the captain MANNY MACHADO.
