376 law enforcement officers were on scene before the shooter was engaged and neutralized. 376.
The more information that comes out on this, the worse it looks, which has been the case since the day it happened. Not really interested in any gun control debates, I'm just wondering how it's possible to have such a complete and utter failure in police response.
A portion of the blame and responsibility should now be directed towards multiple other departments who responded and were more capable of handling the situation, IMO. From the report linked - "91 were state police — whose responsibilities include responding to 'mass attacks in public places.'"
Such a tragic situation that could have and should have been resolved much sooner with much less loss of innocent life.
