I think we are/will see that NIL is going to create a need for advisors that works with and around the players daily. A manager per se.

Thinking in the real world when you are in an incentive based(aka usually sales) job one of the biggest areas of focus for a manager is to work with employees and keep them engaged when they are not hitting the performance levels needed.

While this sounds simple let’s take a RB and create an example. RB1 has a 100k incentive for hitting 1000 rushing yards. You are midway through the season and due to injuries he only has 280 rushing yards. Can you imagine the mental toll on a kid 18-22 and the pressure(family for sure) they are probably feeling?

Now fast forward towards the end of the season and say your QB1. RB1, and multiple WRs have no way to hit their season incentive. Do they fold up and quit. Do they physically play but mentally check out. Now think about potential incentives for Defensive players and ask the same questions.

How are we structuring our incentive based contracts, are we spreading it out pretty even aka per game or season long.

My opinion would be you need somebody who knows how to create SMART Goals and work with them daily to ensure they are on pace to achieve them. Also who has the power to “Bonus” a player, maybe it’s for the next game or multiple games

This could be a critical role for programs going forward.
