There has been conflicting stories on these for a while now. That tells most of us that the protection is pretty similar overall but there are things we still don’t know about natural immunity and even vaccines but vaccines are easier to study. I wouldn’t be against having Covid plus one mRNA shot being counted as vaccinated. Other countries do this.

As I have stated in the past just give us the information and if they don't really know just say so. I believe the more transparent the better off we will all be.

They don’t have all the info. They publish the studies. The problem is it’s harder and harder to study natural immunity as most of them have been vaccinated. 80% of adults have had at least one shot in the US.

Well, if it was posted on the internets (sic), then it MUST be true. 😜

Seriously, it's sad in these weird times of massive group think due to social media, and fake news being pervasive, but we see several recent negative trends coming to bear in the pandemic. People are taught that you can make up your own reality, and tell "your own truth", (i.e. operate in delusion based on your preferences and desires). Sadly, this even appears to have spread to science during this pandemic. You can pretty much "go shopping" on the internet for whatever flavor of "studies", data and information, to support your particular view.

Unfortunately, the leading authorities have gone all in with the philosophy, that it's okay to lie, as long as you FEEL it's for a good purpose.

We've seen several studies, (primarily from OTHER countries, which is an extremely important note), that say natural immunity is better, and this is the second wave of the CDC saying that the mRNA vaccine immunity is best.

It's also important to note that it was other scientists outside of the country, who published studies that caused the CDC to swallow some of their other intentional lies regarding the new vaccines, (e.g. when the CDC was falsely positioning them as if they provided sterilizing immunity, and indicating that it was almost impossible for fully vaxxed folks to get COVID, and saying they couldn't maintain viral loads). They and other scientists here in the U.S. initially trashed the Israeli studies, and said they were flawed.

Then, we started having fully vaccinated people coast to coast, pop up with COVID. Then then said, "It's not a real positive. It's just a few dead virus cells in their noses causing the test to be positive". These cases were just dismissed at anecdotal accounts, even by the doctors on the board. Stump you even posted how flawed the Israeli studies were. Then, the Barnstable incident happened, and the CDC had MASSIVE egg on their faces, and had no choice but to tell the truth. No, here we are, with them producing another U.S. based report to promote the mRNA vaccines, and denigrating natural immunity. I'm not surprised at all. I said long ago that they would do whatever is necessary to get every person on earth to take the mRNA vaccines. Lie, cheat, steal, it don't matter.

I'll tell you what's going on. It's likely just a furtherance of everything else we've seen involving deceit, manipulation, and doing whatever needs to be done to get everyone on earth to take the new mRNA vaccine.

It was clear to me that's what the goal was from the very beginning, but I wish they'd go ahead and just tell us the truth regarding the REASON they want everyone to do so.

The best explanation I’ve heard on why many don’t think natural immunity is enough is due to it being so variable on how much immunity one person has and how much the other person has even though they may be healthy 40 year olds. It’s much more predictable for the vaccines. We are at 80% vaccinated with one shot on adults. I would imagine we get to 85% or close to it. The rest will mostly be protected by natural immunity. I’m talking against serious disease, not infections. The one advantage the US will have over other highly vaccinated countries when we get to 80% overall FULLY vaccinated (by summer imo) is that we will have a lot more natural immunity. I think by spring or summer, you’re looking at very low deaths and hospitalizations.

Also with many of these type "studies" and "articles" you have to really pour over them with a fine-toothed comb. Deep in the "fine print" it says that the study was done on those with "COVID-19-like illness".

Did I miss something, or did I read that right. If it's right, what the heck does that even mean? Did they have COVID, or where they hospitalized for any respiratory illness or other sickness with fever etc., and it was counted as COVID. Can someone clarify?

Don't disagree but I personally think the goal posts will be moved again for the umpteenth time as we move closer to being fully vaccinated.

I would guess that for mandates, they would want one booster a year after the original vaccine shots. Some will drop their mandates down the road if Covid becomes less of a threat.
