Paul Rhoads, Iowa State

Tuberville discovered Rhoads at Pittsburgh and tried to lure him to Auburn twice. Rhoads and Gene Chizik, who will probably be named as our next defensive coordinator, are as solid as you get running the 4-3. Again, I will be shocked if the job goes to anybody but Chizik.

I don't believe in Muschamp any more than believed in Turner Gill, who our fan base would have killed to have had in 2009. I do believe in Chizik. H*ll, he put together two undefeated teams at Auburn, helped coach Texas to a national title, and put together another Auburn team that finished second last year. Plus, he is undefeated in bowl games (Hello playoffs).

Chizik and Malzahn have already proven they win a National Championship together!

I don't understand why our fan base treats the Chizik era with such resentment.

Paul Rhodes has already been a DC at Auburn. I doubt he will be heavily considered. I don't remember very many Auburn people believing in Turner Gill in '09, only Charles Barkley. Do you really think Chizik would come back to Auburn as an assistant and do you really believe CGM would even consider him the way Chizik held back his offense in 2011? It is Muschamp's job to turn down. Right now there is second choice. That will change once Muschamp makes his decision.
