Remember these assholes at UAT have tried to end Auburn their whole existence. Their arrogance led them to this grandiose idea that there is only one school worthy for the citizens of Alabama. Why should we even give a choice? Here are a few facts of their active interference to our mere existence:

* 1872: When Auburn was founded as the state's land-grant college (then called the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama), UA attempted to block the designation, wanting to keep the federal land-grant funds for itself. This early power struggle set the tone for future conflicts.

* Late 19th Century: UA repeatedly used its influence in the state legislature to try and limit appropriations to Auburn, hindering its growth and ability to expand its programs.

* 1910s and 1920s: As Auburn sought to establish its engineering programs, UA actively opposed these efforts, fearing competition. They used their political connections to try and prevent Auburn from receiving the necessary funding and approvals.

* 1940s: During a period of expansion for both universities after World War II, UA again attempted to limit Auburn's funding and influence. This included efforts to restrict Auburn's ability to offer graduate programs.

* 1950s and 1960s: The rivalry continued as both institutions sought to grow and attract students. UA continued to leverage its political influence to try and maintain its position as the preeminent university in the state.

I hate that institution and all it stands for to the core. I hope they fall apart and implode. Sorry ass diploma mill.
