Feels like this should wrap in the next 24-48 hours, granted I thought this would possibly end on Sunday so I could very well be wrong on my timeline.
I agree completely with @Jay G. Tate that Chris Kiffin and DJ Durkin seem to be the two top of the board candidates right now with today obviously being a big day on the Kiffin front. I’m not certain at all that CK is ready to leave the NFL to come back to college, but how today’s meeting goes should answer a lot of those questions, and I’d caution everyone not to believe this interview is a formality to a Kiffin hiring.
If it’s not Kiffin or Durkin, candidates still on the board in my opinion are Zac Arnette, Scott Symons, and Charles Kelly (you’d obviously have to then hire an OLB coach if Kelly is the move and for that reason I see him as the least likely at this point). I don’t think it’s likely that things go beyond Kiffin or Durkin, but to speak in absolutes about anything in coaching searches or college football in general right now would be foolish, which is why I’m listing those other 3 names in this thread.
That’s all for now, but I wouldn’t expect an announcement today, though a behind the scenes determination is highly likely I think.
