Our HC’s contract has been bought out. The money is there and my understanding is the agreement is done and it’s an accelerated payout for a lesser amount. How much less I don’t know. I don’t know the when. Timing may have to do with AD hire.
This has probably been mentioned but the new facility was “purposely” set up to open in early 2023. This was with the intent of our new AD and HC getting the opportunity to be there for this. And this was determined a while back.
There is a group of 4 who I believe have some interest from supporters. In no particular order Prime, Stoops, Kiffen and Freeze. Does NOT mean any of them will come or be offered but these names are ones who have been discussed by supporters. Until we have an AD there really is no “list”. I just know those names have been discussed by supporters and by no means am I saying we will hire one of these guys.
I would expect our new HC to reach out to C Kelly to be on staff.
Our program has a long way to go talent wise. We have little to no difference makers and minimal NFL prospects. This is not solely on Harsin or Greene. The leadership and group before have ownership in this mess.
I think the AD search is similar to the search we had for a President. My guess is McGlynn (sp?) will get it since he’s been here and “gets” Auburn. Doesn’t hurt when other popular coaches on campus are fans of his. This is just my opinion. We may very well hire the Utah State guy but sure seems like that would have happened by now if it was the case.
