1. After 3 weeks, no surprise that uga and uat stand out. The difference seems to me that uga is mostly new talent, while uat is mostly older talent.
2. The second tier is UK, UT, Ark. and maybe Ole Miss. These 4 teams competing for 2nd and 3rd in SECE and SECW, and NY6 bids.
3. Arky has a solid team mostly, but that secondary is very suspect. Gotta believe that will cost them a game at some point. Big neutral site game vs aTm this week, but I think Ark wins.
4. The 3rd tier seems to be UF, LSU, aTm, and Miss St. all with a loss already. I give LSU and aTm credit for bounce-back wins last weekend.
5. After a long run of games struggling with OL, LSU decided to start two true frosh at LT and RT. It worked for an SEC win, and both looked good. Proof that it can be done.
6. As much as I don’t like Jimbo’s coaching style, I have to give him credit for suspending defensive starters last week. He stood firm even as two more defensive starters were disqualified in-game. I’ve seen this approach work countless times in my life. It just does.
7. UT has a key game vs UF to keep pace with UK. I think UT wins at home, and UF locks up 4th place in SECW.
8. The last tier includes SC, Vandy, AU and Mizzu. AU has more talent that the other 3 teams, but the coaching staff has the team highly dysfunctional right now. The match-up with Mizzu could decide who is the worst SEC team, or at least the worst coached SEC team this year.
