Marco Island

Peeps- I have a conference at Marco Island third week of June. We have never been there before but hear good things. Does not seem to be an easy place to get to.. so we have decided to drive from Mobile. Kind off excited about the drive as I have never driven the “west” coast of Fl.
We are going to make this a two day drive. Any towns or musr see suggestions for this drive?
