Nine Inch Mails 2nd album was released 30 years ago today with arguably two of the most well known songs from the 90s in Closer and Hurt.
For me I see it as a cleaner evolution from Trent after what was a very industrial debut album in Pretty Hate Machine but this band (Trent) has always been willing to push boundaries creativity in music and performance.
And to kick it up a notch one of my all time favorite artists...Chris Cornell and Soundgarden released Superunknown the exact same day!!!!!
Chris Cornell holds a very special place in my heart as I think he is the greatest musician of my generation.
Superunknown has tracks like Fell on Black Days, Black Hole Sun, The Day I tried to Live, Spoonman and my favorite My Wave.
It is arguably one of the greatest grunge albums of all time.
If you are looking for nostalgic music today...these are two pretty incredible offerings.
If anyone was writing a weekly column that mused about music...these two would be pretty decent options.
But Selena also released Amor Prohibido on March 13th, 1994 and that might be more of the Bunker's taste.
What do I know...I am just the heavy music guy?
