I am struggling mightily to temper my expectations for this team. Gotta get better. Gotta tighten up these rotations.
I honest to goodness don't know how you defend us.
We will have a game where nothing falls at some point, but you're not stopping us unless we stop ourselves.
Defensively this bunch is a step above the last several years' squads. We're not having to take so many chances, defending without fouling. Bigs can stay home to collect boards and don't have to offer as much weakside defense bc the perimeter defenders for the most part are doing their jobs. Quick hands everywhere. UNA has a quick team and they were able to consistently get into the paint and score on floaters and fades, so we'll need to work on staying on our feet and forcing the outlet pass in those situations.
There are at least 4-5 players on this team that can explode for us on any given night, and I can't wait to see us run this gauntlet.
We played sloppy tonight in transition and that was really the only thing that bothered me at all. I hope that JPP can find his role. With Kelly being able to trigger us in transition like he showed tonight I think JPP's minutes are going to wane. Had hoped BP would get the two flight club members on the court today bc I don't want him to have the temptation to **** with rotations of new players in Maui, since that's BP's favorite.thing.ever. But it is what it is. Noticed that JH wasn't dressed and didn't warm up, though Turtle did.
We have more gears. I can't wait to see them.
Patterson is BOOGER from Revenge of the Nerds for those of you old enough to remember. I know the students today don't know but dude has the dirty sanchez going.
