Trump went on to endorse Putin’s idea for how that probe should operate going forward: Russian law enforcement would agree to interrogate the 12 Russians that Mueller had indicted — and allow members of his team to observe those interrogations — in exchange for the United States agreeing to interrogate American intelligence officials whom the Kremlin has accused of committing crimes against Russia (with Russian law enforcement in the room).
“We would expect that the Americans would reciprocate,” Putin explained, “and they would question officials, including the officers of law enforcement and intelligence services of the United States, who we believe have something to do with illegal actions on the territory of Russia, and we have to request the presence of our law enforcement.”

All of the trumpist apologists who claim Trump's policies are strong have no ground to stand on. He wants to give Putin access to our investigation into Russian interference. Trump has been briefed for over a year on the investigation. During his 2 hour meeting with Putin, Trump almost certainly already disclosed classified information to him given that they had clearly discussed "cooperating" on the investigation to discredit it and defend Russia's attacks on the US.
The press conference was obviously a historic disgrace and a huge victory for Putin, but what went on behind close doors was likely much more damaging. Congress should subpoena the interpreter and any notes from the meeting with Putin. Our country has a right to know what other anti-American activities Trump engaged in during the Summit.
