My wife and I each got a notice in the mail that the IRS was holding our tax refund pending a further review of the return. Well that would be find had I sent in a return (usually wait until the 15th). Apparently some fine individual has hijacked our identity.
I want to talk to someone at the IRS but apparently that's impossible. The form says to fill out form 14039 and mail it to us if you didn't file a return. Doesn't satisfy me. Seems like I have to trust they get the form before they pay out the refund. Should be able to STOP THE PROCESS immediatly.
Also should I go ahead and file or will that just confuse the issue?
Is Lifelock any good? Also need to check my credit reports.
