QUICK UPDATES

Note: If a recruit is not listed below, he left without doing interviews.

***** Four-star DB Cam'ron Kelly's visit today was his first to Auburn. It might not be his last, though. Kelly has one official visit remaining (he's visited Oklahoma, Penn State, Virginia and Washington State) and is considering using it to return to Auburn. If so, it most likely would be the weekend of the LSU game. Kelly would like to make his commitment in October. He's a December graduate.

***** Dreshun Miller, the defensive back from Eastern Arizona Community College, left Auburn today without doing any interviews. Miller is committed to LSU. A knowledgeable source said today's visit "went very good" for Auburn with Miller, and the hope is he'll return for an official visit.

***** Four-star defensive back Adonis Otey will announce his commitment on Wednesday. He will choose between Auburn, Arkansas and Louisville. Otey, who last visited Auburn in June, likely will choose either Arkansas or Louisville. I don't believe he's a take right now for Auburn, especially with Andrew Booth, Zion Puckett and Nehemiah Pritchett still on the board.

***** Hueytown running back Roydell Williams, who is Auburn's top RB target in 2020, just left another visit to Auburn. He also was here for Big Cat. Williams grew up an Alabama fan, but said Auburn is recruiting him harder than any school. He plans to return to Auburn for a game or two this fall and make his commitment sometime after his junior season. For you RB recruiting enthusiasts, Williams is definitely a guy to watch in 2020.

***** Top CB target Nehemiah Pritchett said Auburn is a big leader over Ole Miss and he was "very close" to committing today. He said he should have a decision in the next week or two. Pritchett said Auburn coaches love his speed and need him to come in and play early next season. He ran a 4.38 at camp this summer.

"The coaches, this place is awesome. It doesn't get no better than this."

***** Five-star athlete Arik Gilbert’s visit today is his first to Auburn. He is listed as the No. 1 athlete in the 2020 class and could play many positions in college, but his preference is tight end. Auburn would love to give him that opportunity. Gilbert spent a lot of time today with tight ends coach Larry Porter. Auburn, after today, is a factor. So is Tennessee, Southern Cal, Georgia and Alabama. He has visited Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia and now Auburn.

***** 2020 OT Chris Mayo really enjoyed his first visit to Auburn and is planning to return this fall although he plays on Saturdays. Mayo said the Auburn offer is a very big one to him and the Tigers are high on his list. Mayo really likes Coach Grimes. He is open to leaving the NE (He's from New Jersey) and has family friends in Smyrna ,Ga. Plans to have a decision next summer or fall.

***** Four-star LB commitment Owen Pappoe said he "got a commitment" today, "a 2020 DL". (I'm guessing that's Demouy Kennedy, a LB who also could play DE). Pappoe also said Auburn would sign a top-5 class this year. He predicted Auburn would flip Jadon Haselwood from UGA.

Pappoe will take his official visit to Auburn "either for the LSU or Tennessee" game, and also take an official visit to Nebraska.

***** Auburn High four-star DE/LB Mohamoud Diabate just arrived at Auburn. He visited Florida on Friday.

***** Central-Phenix City junior wide receiver E.J. Williams still has Auburn No. 1 after today's visit. Williams is being recruited to Auburn by Kodi Burns and 2020 WR commitment Kobe Hudson. Williams and Hudson spent time together today.

Williams plans to return to Auburn for 2-3 games in the fall. He wants to announce his commitment sometime during his junior season (this fall) and said Auburn is the team to beat.

***** 2020 DL Demarjhe Lewis said he and his family were thrilled with the offer from Auburn and he has the Tigers on top of his list followed by Florida and Georgia.

"I just love the coaching here. I love how they treat me."

***** NEW OFFER: 3-star DE Demarjhe Lewis, Griffin, Ga.

*****
MOD observation: Saw 2020 LB commit Quandarrius Robinson in-person for the first time in a while and that kid is loooooong with a great frame. When he fills out, he's going to be a beast. I think he could be a future Buck.

*****
2020 WR commit Kobe Hudson said Auburn feels like home every time he visits. He spent a lot of his time today recruiting other 2020 prospects and feels very good about Auburn's chances with 2020 WR E.J. Williams.

*****
McGill-Toolen four-star DT LeDarrius Cox left Auburn still committed to Tennessee. He said he'd return to the Auburn in the fall for a game.

"Auburn has made a push, but I'm still committed to Tennessee," Cox said.

Cox spent time today with Gus Malzahn, Rodney Garner and Kevin Steele and said he enjoyed talking with the coaches.
