So far 19 players off Texas AM have enter the portal. That has to be a third of their returning roster. I'm not sure how many off Bama and the corndogs, but a few. So how much NIL money did these players make in the past 12/24 months? There is a learning curve here for AD/NILs and players. There are a lot of players that are going to miss out on a good degree chasing playing time and NIL money. And there are a lot of NILs that are going to pay a lot of money to players that never step on the field during meaningful plays. In the old days the rule was the player never got his money under the table until he was signed. Then he was locked in to the team. But with NIL it is the JT Daniels rule. Get the the money then go to a new team every 12 months. One year contracts. So I ask. Why recruit over 5-8 top end HS players each year, if they can leave in 12 months? It is going to take NIL money to get them. Why not just give that money to a older stronger more proven player off a college team. That is totally backwards from how teams were built 3 years ago. But is it the way of the future? If so why not change the rules to allow coaches to talk direct to player about NIL money or be allowed to take an NIL representative with them on recruiting trips. Why dance around what everyone knows is actually going own...Pay for play.

Learning Curve.
