Time is ticking on one of the biggest potential flips in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Top-100 QB
Deuce Knight
has been committed to Notre Dame for nearly a year. That commitment has been tested time and time again over the past few months with schools across the SEC continuing to take their shot at flipping one of the top quarterback prospects in the Rivals250.
Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame staff have fended off threats consistently -- never better than over the summer with Knight returning back to campus on multiple occasions in June, including his 12th trip from Mississippi up to South Bend. Ole Miss has and continued to chip away with one of the state's best quarterbacks. There was confidence in Oxford about their chances with Knight, and even more confidence around Notre Dame.

Knight did not make it back to Notre Dame at the end of July for the Grill and Chill event. Instead, he quietly made his way to Auburn for Big Cat Weekend as the Tigers have quickly and methodically emerged as the biggest threat to flip the four-star quarterback.
Multiple sources have expressed doubt about Knight's chances of remaining in the Irish's 2025 recruiting class, a sentiment that's been growing by the day since the quarterback's visit to The Plains for Big Cat Weekend.
Ole Miss remains in pursuit of Knight, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the state, and the top quarterback target on Lane Kiffin's board in this cycle. However, sources point to Auburn as being the threat to land a commitment from Knight at this juncture -- less than two weeks away from the quarterback kicking off his senior season at Lucedale (Miss.) George County High School.
Nothing is imminent in recruiting, though sources familiar with Knight's recruitment expect a change of heart to be made official as early as Tuesday. There is also a sense that Knight will continue to weigh his options over the next few days and possibly into the weekend.
