Hero to many posters (a.k.a. easy marks) around here, Sidney Powell has filed a motion to dismiss the $1.3 billion lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems.
What should be of most interest is that a portion of her defense rests on the notion that anyone who actually believed her bullshit must have been so incomprehensibly ignorant, that they could not be considered "reasonable." A few highlights:
"Analyzed under these factors, and even assuming, arguendo, that each of the statements alleged in the Complaint could be proved true or false, no reasonable person would conclude that the statements were truly statements of fact."
"Thus, courts “shelter strong, even outrageous political speech,” on the ground that “the ordinary reader or listener will, in the context of political debate, assume that vituperation is some form of political opinion neither demonstrably true nor demonstrably false.”
Reasonable people understand that the “language of the political arena… is often vituperative, abusive and inexact..." It is likewise a “well recognized principle that political statements are inherently prone to exaggeration and hyperbole.”
The natural question after all of this is whether or not you guys ever tire of putting faith in grifters who use you and don't respect you? Seems like the answer is a resounding no.
