The Ole Miss football program has hit a 100% vaccination rate among players, coaches, staff, and everyone else who will be at Sunday's practice, head coach Lane Kiffin said, according to ESPN's Chris Low.

Kiffin was elated following the push from his players and coaches to get their COVID-19 vaccines.

"It's pretty amazing and great motivation for our fans and the state," Kiffin said.

The Rebels head coach stressed the importance of being protected after SEC commissioner Greg Sankey announced in July the conference wouldn't reschedule games due to COVID-19 outbreaks, making forfeitures a possibility.

"Nobody wants to be in a position to forfeit games," Kiffin added.

Teams that reach an 85% vaccinated threshold won't be required to test regularly or wear masks inside school facilities, the SEC also said in July. Sankey noted at the time that six of the conference's 14 clubs had hit the 80% mark.

Ole Miss went 5-5 last season during Kiffin's first campaign in charge. The Rebels will open the 2021 season on Sept. 6 against Louisville.
