I have always stayed far away from the bunker or any AU football forums during games, but early in the game we were clearly struggling to open run lanes without the threat of the QB option and Cox was either getting eaten alive by Burgess and co or whiffing on blocks. I commented to my friend he was about to exit stage left and Kam would come in, only to see Cox pulled in favor of 4 wide for an entire drive until a JJ pick.
This lead me to the bunker to create a thread asking where Kam was...wondering if there was some reason he wasn't playing. Finally, when he did come in, he was a clear and noticeable upgrade. He was landing tough blocks on some very good Louisville LBs and creating space.
I really do need to get around to watching the replay, as I mentioned yesterday the 2nd half is a bit hazy as we hit the bourbon hard during halftime, but I was wondering if anyone knows if Kam was primarily running point at HB in the 2nd half for Peyton, or if it was an even split of Kam and Cox, or what.
*I am still a huge fan of Cox, and excited about his future, but that year of S&C with Coach Russell appeared to be a significant upgrade for us when Kam was in there.
