Much different feeling watching this on tv than live at dome. I felt, live, that the offense was absolutely awful. No flow, no continuity. I feel different after rewatching.
JJ struggled, but he did make the easy throws when they were there. The running game, especially once Barber entered game, looked really good. This was not some BS front 7 we were running against. JJ really didn't feel like a major threat to throw it well, and we still hit 4-5 yards/carry. In my opinion, Gus/Lashlee got too cute with plays. Run it down their throat and we probably run away with the game.
Defense looks much improved, at least in overall effort. They also look like a much better tackling team. There were no doubt some busted assignments, but pretty sure we all expect that game 1. I think they got worn down and were exhausted in 4th qtr.
Overall, I feel much better about it than I did after game. Do we have to get better to beat LSU in Baton Rouge in 2 weeks? No doubt about it. I do feel like the necessary improvement is conceivable, if not liklely.
