and it doesn't mean you want them fired if you are upset with their current performance. I'm not sure there is anything that can happen this season that would make me say we need to move on from Gus. Especially paired with Muschamp. I think the potential there is great.

That said, I can't tell if we got arrogant on offense or lack all confidence. It's weird. And we're so predictable it's not even funny. This was an offense that riddled defensive coordinators around the nation. It wasn't all the scrambling QB either, because a lot of teams have those and weren't giving good DC's nightmares quite like Gus and company were. We have to get back to being cutting edge and proactive. We stopped adding to this offense in 2013 and it's stagnant now. As capt'n pointed out in another thread...FSU stopped some of our edge stuff in the BCS game and Bill Snyder upgraded those adjustments and since then we were basically only succeeded with Marshall making absurd plays and the duo of Duke/Sammie stretching defenses out. This isn't all on Jeremy Johnson. The coaches have failed him, maybe both in how they are running the offense and how they didn't really do much to develop or push him. No way a 3rd year QB should have the mechanics problems he's having and also struggle so much to understand coverage. The screwed up. I don't really think it's debatable. I don't know if we're in position to make enough adjustments now that we're into the season. We'll see I guess. I do think yesterday was a wakeup call to them. I don't tend to trust anything Gus says, but his words and body language said he was shocked and that his eyes were opened somewhat. There is still potential in this team, but it's got more work to do than it should and I'm not sure it can get done fast enough to get past the next 2 weeks. I just want to see progress as we go.
