I attended my first game in 1965 (according to Dad) at the age of 2 and have been a crazed fan since I can remember. I never played anything but soccer and ran track. That is my disclaimer. Now the question.
It appears to me that Gus's offense does not work without an athletic QB. Even the one we played against yesterday would work. I read much about the read option.
1) Can an athletic qb have the passing skills at the level of JJ or any other drop back qb? (excluding once in a generation players like Cam and Wilson)
2) Am I correct that Gus's offense can't work without this type qb?(I have noticed we don't have very much pre-snap motion or HUNH anymore)
3) If that is true how did he do so well with Alpin? I watched much youtube of Arky State when Gus was there to get an idea of what our offense would look like this year.
4) Gus stated JJ is our starter and will be our starter. Do you guys believe that and after the "greatest improvement between games 1 & 2" has now happened, how do we go forward and expect to win any games against SEC opponents. See yesterday's games. LSU, Ole Miss, Miss St, Turds, Ga, A&M. How on God's green earth are we going to compete with these teams.
