Is The Walking Dead worth a watch?

I'm just about out of shows that interest me.

I need a show to be a little bit out there to get invested. I've seen my fill of detectives, doctors, lawyers and British people.

So is TWD worth a binge? Zombies really aren't my thing, but I'm open to being convinced. MM only worry with this show is that it's going to get real repetitive.
