No one wants people to die like this. And as much as people seem invested in making people believe things like this happen every day, they are statistical anomalies. Millions of interactions go down without incident. Where I diverge from the craziness of today is the idea that police kill because of race. I don’t think it’s the case, and no one will convince me it is the case. It’s a tough, thankless, necessary damn job (I’m ranting, not insinuating you feel differently). And I encourage all of those dissatisfied with their police service to put down the signs and/or bricks and apply for the job. Change it from the inside!
