They have to protect ex-presidents. I know former First Ladies can refuse protection, but I’m not sure if ex presidents are even able to do this. I guess they’d have to be able, but if you were going to prison, I’m sure that’s the last place you’d refuse so that won’t happen.
What does the secret service do? Follow him around prison? Take shifts sitting outside his cell? They have to be able to reach him, so would that mean stay inside his cell?
