Depending on your overall income for 2020, up to $10,200 of unemployment income will not be taxable. IRS has not issued final regulations and tax software programs have not been updated yet. If you have already filed or file before software is adjusted and you paid tax on some unemployment money, you will have to file an amended return to get those taxes back. It is probably better that you wait to file your 2020 return until this is worked out.
