If they really want to fire him but dawdle until after the Iron Bowl and he manages to win, the jig is up, right? That would make him 9-3 with two of the three losses to top five opponents and the other to a top ten opponent. Two of the three losses could be to playoff teams. Regardless of the issues we all know so well, wouldn't firing him then be a very bad look and a PR nightmare?
