Forensic nurse who inspired ‘Mindhunter’ FBI technique on Netflix criticizes series
Forensic nurse and professor Ann Burgess began consulting in the late 1970s with famed FBI agents John Douglas and Robert Ressler for groundbreaking work that changed the Bureau’s methods for hunting killers

Ann Burgess who was the consultant for the FBI agents John E Douglas and Robert Ressler. They developed the Behavioral Science Unit. They created the first Serial Killer profiling techniques and got it down to being able to give information to local police based on crimescenes. They could even tell things like what type of vehicle to look for based on the criminals psychology. They literally wrote the handbook on Criminal Psychology. They've interviewed and analysed the most prolific murderers in US history.
Sadly, the series Mindhunters fabricated the main characters and their backstories for tv. I think Ann is right that they should've focused solely on the cases and not made up sex lives. Anyways, she's putting out a docuseries on her work.
