Why not just work out a way to buy/take Mexico and add more property to the US?
It would be much more convenient to shut down crossings at the panama canal. I would also bet that if Mexico became part of the US the locals down there would be having a fit over people crossing over into their country lol.
Where could the US grow the economy with this move? It would be a mess to clean up the lawlessness but lots of locals need work building better infrastructure.
I know this is all talking out the ass but when your crappy neighbor is constantly a dickhead and trashing his yard and parking broke down cars in it, buying his property out from under him and cleaning the yard he kept trashed increases your property value.
Prob too much poverty to take on as we are already in such extreme debt but the land grab may be lucrative....great vacation spots could be easier to access!
I would rather seal the border and set up a better worker exchange program but just throwing this out to talk about instead of fighting about the middle east right now. Anyway flame on.
