Bruce Pearl underwent a knee replacement on his left knee late last week. He's getting along on a walker -- and very slowly. He's clearly in some pain, but he's putting on a happy face because that's who he is.
The good news? He's genuinely optimistic that the operation will fix trouble he's had in his left knee since his teenage years.
"I had my first knee injury at 14 and it never really felt the same after that," he said.
Pearl had just finished with some rehab at the athletic complex and was headed out with his son, Steven. He did mention that the search for graduate transfers, at least one and possibly two, remains in progress.
I asked him about Ohio State center Daniel Giddens, an Atlanta-area native who recently announced plans to transfer. No comment.
