Sometimes the playstation heroes do know best. The bunker said "Our DT and LB recruiting has been terrible. That is a huge issue". I said "Trust the coaches. They know what we need and don't need". The coaches nearly replaced the entire first and second team secondary in the offseason. If they thought DL and LB were issues than they would have replaced them too. The bunker was right. Our starting 2 DT's run out of gas by the second half and there is a huge dropoff from first to second team. Our LB's are continuing to fail to get off blocks and take bad angles on every play.
The bunker also said "Gus's offense cannot be successful without a DTQB". My reaction "obviously not...Gus continues to recruit pocket passers and he had success with pocket passers in the past". I think it is obvious by now that this offense works way better with a DTQB. I believe we would be more productive with Wallace at QB than JJ. Everyone is screaming for SW to come in but I'm not sure that changes things much. I would like to see Wallace or Jason Smith get a shot at QB, to see if that changes things much. Wallace at QB would certainly provide a leader at QB and he has shown in the past that he has the heart and guts to get it done.
