Jimbo has recruited really well at A&M. That roster has legit SEC talent all over it. We got maybe 3 or 4 first string guys that would start at LSU, tamu, bama, uga, UT or UF. And 3 or 4 is likely generous.
We had a coach that basically did not recruit for 2 years.
Portal guys (most of them) are portalling because they aren’t starting where they are. Or they’re jumping from lower tier programs. Either way, they’re rarely gonna stack up against seasoned SEC talent.
We just gotta get 6 or 7 wins and get a bowl game and the extra practice reps that brings. And we gotta recruit some stud HS guys that we can start to build this roster on.
We don’t need a little patching up. We need a whole new foundation. Gonna take a couple years folks.
