Hugh Freeze spoke on the SEC teleconference today. Here's a summary...

** Looking forward to opportunity to redeem ourselves. A lot of positives from young players on defense. Lots of opportunities for plays on offense but didn't make them. New Mexico is a scary team and they put up a bunch of points against the two teams they've played.

** Freeze is asked about freshman wideouts: We had one of the best WR classes in country. Cam Coleman coming in the spring gave him a leg up. They are all gifted and everybody develops at their own pace. The biggest challenge for them besides the mental part of playing college football is how to finish routes and compete against some of the best cornerbacks in the country.

** On QB's this week: There's a very short leash on us playing that way. It's not always the QB. There are plays that he's expected to make that he didn't make in critical moments.

** Excited about where this program is headed. Need to have patience but that doesn't excuse poor play right now. Leaders on team have responded and hopes that continues rest of this week.

** On meeting with QBs this week: Allowed them both to talk me through every single play that we had a protection issue or missed open players. I wanted to see if we were missing anything as coaches or what we need to do differently. Freeze said he learned a lot about both QB's and how they process things. Hugh said he should do that more.

** We averaged 7 yards rushing Saturday but didn't get enough possessions or get in a rhythm. Struggled in pass pro, especially when Miller was injured.

** Asked about potentially putting off a decision for a couple of weeks, which would take away an opportunity for Hank Brown to get more playing time now, Freeze said he goes to bed and wakes up thinking about the QB's. He mentioned that they make decisions based on practice but there comes a time when you have to produce in games.

*****THAT'S ALL*****
