Auburn coach Hugh Freeze spoke on the SEC teleconference this afternoon. Here's a summary...
** Playing one of greatest rivalries in college football. Hopefully we understand what it means to so many people and how much we have to play for. Going to take pretty much a mistake-free game to beat UGA in Athens.
** On what makes a rivalry special: History, for sure. There's so much history and the year-round banter that goes between the fans and families. There's so much pride in both schools. That passion bleeds into this game.
** On helmet communications through five games: I'm starting to enjoy it. We used it quite a bit last week and thought it was efficient and worked well.
** Last week was pretty physical but we've got to get ready for one of the most physical games of the season. Next week's off-week is much needed.
** Been a weird schedule. Feel like we're getting better. Played 24 freshmen or sophomores against Oklahoma. We're getting better but just making critical mistakes with turnovers or bad calls or execution.
** Was asked about UGA-ALA game: Field full of athletes. Milroe was special in first half. Kirby and his staff made great adjustments in 2nd half. Got after Alabama in 2nd half and made it a game. Showed the resilience and toughness of both teams.
